Back to School - A Glimpse of October 2020
After 6 months away, we are back and raring to go! It’s amazing to have our students back in school. Making sure we follow all SOP guidelines and more. We are taking every precaution to make sure that our students get the full school experience in a safe and effective manner. We thought it would be tough to get our primary students back into a routine, but it’s been great to see how quickly they are adjusting. While we have to limit shared activities, they can still feel like a group and work together with small elements throughout the day. Have a look at post pandemic class activities at Chapterhouse Education View Gallery

Grade 2 Walking Spider Art
From the very first time you hear the Little Miss Muffet poem or Itsy Bitsy Spider, they are fascinating. So Grade 2 decided to put their fascination into their art with the walking spider art View Gallery
Nursery Shape Art
Our low student teacher ratio of 8:1 means that the teachers can devote their time to more than just the daily learning of their 3Rs (Reading, Writing And Arithmetic). The kids spend many happy hours through the month working on multiple art projects. Some in collaboration with their teachers and others independently. Each activity is designed to educate without overwhelming. So when they learn the names of sea animals and birds, they work on crabs and bird art. When they learn about the letter “n” they work on the vocabulary words associated with the letter. The seasons come with their own tree with autumnal colors. The paper chains are a precursor STEM activity teaching collaboration and focus. View Gallery

Chapterhouse Winter Fun Fair December 2019
The Chapterhouse Funfair supported by Moody’s Prep School was a great success. It was amazing to see all the children and parents there. The Magic Show was a great hit with adults and youngsters alike and the food stalls were busy since morning. The bouncing castle (placed in the veranda because of the rain) was one of the most popular attractions for the younger kids. The skies cleared up towards the afternoon and the families spread out over our spacious play area as well. The final performance of the Magic Show was in the chilly but beautiful evening outside. We would like to thank all the teachers and staff for their efforts before, on and after the day and to all the parents and children who came and made it a great success View Gallery

Understanding objects that sink and float and why that happens was a fun exercise designed to make the kids learn an important concept with a “splash” of fun. The students explore different objects in real time and see which ones will sink or float View Gallery
Travelling Library
In spite of having a huge library in the school, the kids were extremely excited at the idea of borrowing books from the Oxford Mobile Library. The excitement in the air was palpable, each book was a treasure to be held tightly and guarded. All the students read the books during their scheduled Reading and Comprehension class and then took them home to read them to their parents. They also practiced returning the books to the library as well Thanks Oxford for this excellent initiative. We have found that the children are now even more excited for their in-house library periods View Gallery
Nursery STEM Paper Chains
In this STEM activity students of Nursery worked together to see which group could create the longest paper chain. A great ice-breaker when done at the beginning of the year, doing it in the middle of the year means we can see how far students have come in terms of their ability to analyze a problem, work together to find a solution and plan before acting. A great way to build communication skills, making sure that even the quietest students find their moment in the sun View Gallery
A Day In The Life
Lots of different activities happen across the different classes on a daily basis. This particular set has art activities, free play with blocks, nap time, computer class, birthday parties, a visit to a mobile library from Oxford Press (something the children enjoyed even though we have a bigger one in the school) View Gallery

Building A Rain Shelter
STEM projects are designed to encourage creative thinking and an interest in areas of science, engineering and more. And that’s where the challenging part of class activities at Chapterhouse Education comes in. And that’s even more fun for the students as they enjoy such activities a lot more. The “Rain Shelter” project was one of our favourites of the year so far. Class activities at Chapterhouse Education make full use of STEM to incorporate brain friendly learning. Focusing on our Nursery students, the aim was to design a waterproof rain shelter for their favorite character. Each group was given the same set of starting resources. The end result was amazing. Each group (with a little guidance) managed to create their own version of the shelter. Some with elaborate out-buildings and towers, others with a simple, practical design. Overall the session was a great success with all the students delighted with their results. View Gallery
Senior STEM Paper Maze
Students from Grade 2 and Grade 3 were given the engineering challenge of creating a paper maze. The maze had to be clear enough to be navigable with a series of marbles but not too simple. Two teams were formed and the results were fun to watch View Gallery
Pendulum Painting
Another STEM adventure with Pendulum Painting, one that combines art and science to deliver a great learning experience. Pendulums introduce kids to the concepts of gravity, force and resistance – all critical elements in building a solid foundation for scientific learning. When you add a cup full of colour to the pendulum, ART emerges View Gallery
Assembly
Building the confidence of our youngsters is a critical part of the school day. Assembly is a great way of doing that. The younger children start with poems and songs, performing as a group until they feel confident enough to stand in front of the school. The pace of the process is based on the individual child, some jump into it with both feet, others need a bit of coaxing. Our aim is to create a sense of self assurance within each and everyone of them View Gallery
Mothers Day 2019
Mothers Day is always special and the kids went all out this year. Each class wanted to make a different card and everyone took part in the actually creation of the card. It was a great way of saying Thank You to their amazing Moms View Gallery
Playgroup Earth Art
During the first term the students worked on a few different art projects, but their favorite take homes were the Earth Day focused palm print and the Elephant with the moving trunk. The logic of their choices was theirs alone:) And then of course we had the joint birthday party for our two adorable brothers. We are looking forward to seeing what the new term has in store for them. View Gallery
Ooblek
Ooblek is a fascinating substance for the kids to play with. With properties of a liquid when left alone and a solid under pressure, Ooblek lets them experience different states of matter and have fun with the experience. Our Playgroup and Nursery students enjoyed getting their hands messy. In the end, the smiles say it all View Gallery

Arts and Crafts
Albert Einstein once said “Creativity is contagious, pass it on”. When students work on art projects, whether painting, crafts or Origami projects, they engage a different part of their consciousness. It encourages them to open up and let their ideas flow. Just like STEM, Music, and Computers, ART helps students explore a different side of their nature while having a lot of fun. The smiles say it all! View Gallery

Nursery Class - Rain Cloud Experiment
We have been having a lot of fun with our STEM classes over the last few weeks. These classes are designed to introduce and reinforce concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths for our students. Recent activities have included the “Rainbow Jar” which is a great way to learn about the varying densities of liquids in a fun and engaging manner. Other recent activities included learning about simple Engineering principles by building the “Tallest Tower”. And then using a combination of Science, Engineering and Maths to create the “Parachute Egg Drop. By introducing the concepts of gravity, density and measurement in a practical way, children open up to new ideas and ways of putting their imagination to work. View Gallery
